What makes a number hot or cold?
Hot simply means drawn more often than average so far; cold means less often. They are descriptions of the past, not forecasts.
Why are older draws counted separately?
Mega Millions changed to 5/70 + 1/24 on 8 April 2025. Numbers that did not exist under earlier rules cannot be compared fairly with ones that did, so each rule set is counted on its own.
Does a hot number stay hot?
No. Balls have no memory and every drawing starts over. Frequency tells you what has happened, never what comes next.
